Former Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless is set to produce.
Christina Hendricks, Alysia Reiner and Anna Camp are set to star in the dark comedy Egg.
Hendricks and Reiner will play old art-school rivals that both happen to be expecting children at the same time, but one is carrying hers while the other is using a surrogate, played by Camp.
The movie comes from best-selling author Risa Mickenberg (Taxi Driver Wisdom) and will be directed by filmmaker Marianna Palka, who recently starred on Netflix’s wrestling comedy GLOW. David Alan Basche and Gbenga Akinnagbe also star.
Reiner and Basche are producing, along with former Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless.
Hendricks was last seen in the comedies Fist Fight and Bad Santa 2, and is set to topline NBC’s buzzy midseason drama Good Girls.
Reiner is best known for her role on Orange Is the New Black and also appears on FX’s Better Things. Camp will soon be seen in the third installment in the Pitch Perfect franchise.
Palka made her directorial debut with the Sundance feature Good Dick, which she wrote and starred in with Jason Ritter.
Production on Egg is set to begin at the end of the summer in New York.
Christina is set to star in the upcoming NBC drama, Good Girls!
Christina Hendricks has been cast in NBC’s upcoming drama “Good Girls,” Variety has learned.
The “Mad Men” alum joins the series in the role originally set for Kathleen Rose Perkins, who was recast. The pilot will reshoot this fall with Hendricks on board, and the series will debut midseason.
In “Good Girls,” when three suburban moms — played by Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta — get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at toy gunpoint. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.
The series has been described as a comedy-infused drama that mixes a little “Thelma & Louise” with a bit of “Breaking Bad.”
Alongside stars Hendricks, Whitman and Retta, the cast is rounded out by Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard and Matthew Lillard.
“Good Girls” hails from Shondaland alum Jenna Bans, who created the series and will serve as executive producer with Jeannine Renshaw and Dean Parisot, who will direct the pilot. Universal Television is the studio.
Hendricks starred on “Mad Men” for its entire run. Since, she has appeared on Sundance’s “Hap and Leonard” and Comedy Central’s “Another Period.” She is repped by ICM, Link Entertainment and attorney Howard Fishman at Hirsch Wallerstein.
Exciting news, Christina has a new project! She has joined the cast of The Strangers 2.
Emmy-nominated Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Bailee Madison (Once Upon a Time) and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath) have joined the cast of The Strangers 2 with Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door) directing from a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) and Ben Ketai. Bloom, which introduced the project at the Berlin International Film Festival, will continue selling it in Cannes with principal photography starting May 30 in L.A.
The Strangers 2 follows a family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and the power goes out. As they hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer, three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.
The Fyzz Facility Pictures’ Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River), Robert Jones (Centurion), Mark Lane & James Harris (47 Meters Down) are producing, in association with Relativity Media. The Fyzz Facility are serves financiers on the project. Aviron already was announced as the North American distributor.
Intrepid Pictures’ Trevor Macy, who produced 2008’s The Strangers as well as genre titles The Bye Bye Man, Ouija: Origin of Evil and Oculus., will serve as executive producer.

Christina is set to star in Brian De Palma’s thriller Domino!
The action-thriller follows two cops who hunt down their fallen colleague’s murderer.
Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster Waldau and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks are in talks to star in veteran director Brian De Palma’s thriller Domino.
Petter Skavlan (Kon-Tiki, Sophie’s World) wrote the script for the film. The story follows a Copenhagen police officer (Coster Waldau) who is seeking justice for his partner’s murder by a mysterious man called Imran. He teams up with a fellow cop and his late partner’s mistress (Hendricks) to hunt Imran down, but they are unwittingly caught in a cat-and-mouse chase with a duplicitous CIA agent that will take them from Scandinavia to the sun-drenched landscapes of Spain.
The film is being produced by Michel Schonnemann for Schonne Film in Denmark and co-produced by Antonio Perez Perez for Maestranza in Spain and Jaqueline de Gooeij for Zilvermeer in Belgium. Backup is wrapping financing of the film, and IM Global will introduce the project to buyers in Cannes later this month. ICM, which negotiated the financing and packaged the film, will represent it for North America.
Coster Waldau is known for playing Jaime Lannister on HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones. His film credits include fantasy film Gods of Egypt, horror hit Mama, sci-fi pic Oblivion and comedy The Other Woman. He is repped by WME and Lindberg Management in Denmark.
Along with playing Joan on the hit AMC series Mad Men, Hendricks has appeared on the big screen in mystery-thriller Dark Places, Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon and comedy Fist Fight. Her upcoming credits include The Burning Woman with Sienna Miller and Aaron Paul and Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s Crooked House. Hendricks is repped by ICM, Independent Talent Group and LINK Entertainment.
De Palma is known for directing such iconic films as 1983’s Scarface, 1987’s The Untouchables and 1996’s Mission: Impossible. He most recently helmed the 2012 film Passion starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace. De Palma is repped by ICM.
