Christina Hendricks Joins the Cast of DRIVE

Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men“) is going for a ride with Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, inking a deal to star in indie pic “Drive.”Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston and Oscar Isaacs also star.

Nicolas Winding Refn (“Bronson,” “Pusher“) is directing the action thriller, from Bold Films, OddLot Entertainment and Marc Platt Prods. Principal photography begins Sept. 25 in L.A.

Based on James Sallis’ crime novel of the same name and adapted by scribe Hossein Amini, “Drive” revolves around a Hollywood stunt drive (Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway driver in L.A.’s criminal underworld. He finds himself a target after agreeing to aid the ex-con boyfriend of his beautiful neighbor (Mulligan) in a job that goes dangerously awry. The only way he can keep her safe and stay alive is to do what he does best: drive.

Marc Platt is producing with Gigi Pritzker, Michel Litvak and Adam Siegel. Exec producers are David Lancaster, Gary Michael Walters, Bill Lischak and Linda McDonough.

Drive” is the first film that Bold Films and OddLot will co-produce and co-finance. Their joint sales division Affinity Intl. will handle international sales. Domestic rights are repped by WME.

Hendricks stars as Joan Holloway in AMC’s award-winning “Mad Men.” Previous TV credits include Fox’s “Firefly,” “Tru Calling” and “Cold Case.”

Her upcoming feature projects include romantic comedy “Life As We Know It,” starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel, “Leonie,” starring Emily Mortimer, and “Detachment,” starring Adrien Brody, James Caan and Lucy Liu.
